2019 SUZUKI 50 HP DF50AVTL2 OUTBOARD MOTOR
The new Suzuki DF50AVTL2 is designed with a “High Energy Rotation” lower unit sporting a 2.42:1 gear ration, which enables this new model to use a bigger 14″ propeller – perfect for powering pontoon boats and other large, heavy craft. This mid-range 50hp engine is also designed with Lean Burn Fuel Control System, which adjusts the air/fuel mixtrue according to operating conditions. The system significantly improves fuel efficiency across the operating range, from low speeds well up into the cruising range. Yamaha’s High Thrust four strokes, are built for jobs that call for more muscle—like pushing a heavy pontoon, adding extra kick to a multi-species boat or maneuvering a sailboat through a crowded marina. Available in 60, 50, an all-new 25 and a 9.9 horsepower, their larger lower units and higher gear ratios produce substantially more thrust than conventional outboards of the same horsepower using standard propellers. In fact, when paired with our Dual Thrust™ propellers, (optional on T60/T50 and standard on our T25 and T9.9) Yamaha High Thrusts produce up to 60 percent more forward thrust and up to 70 percent more thrust in reverse.
Yamaha’s 432cc 25hp High Thrust outboard delivers the power and grip with exceptional efficiency. This newly redesigned outboard has the best power-to-weight ratio of all high-thrust 25hp outboards. With the new design comes a no-battery-required Electronic Fuel Injection as well as electric and manual start on all models. The new 25hp High Thrust model comes in both 20 and 25 inch shaft lengths for a wider range of applications. Also included, Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS®) which allows slower trolling than standard in-gear idle for better fishing.

- Optimum Performance: A TCI microcomputer ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimal engine performance, economy and power under all operating conditions.
- Precise Throttle Control: All air entering the engine block is routed through a single throttle valve, to ensure the precise amount of air necessary for optimum power and fuel efficiency. It then enters each cylinder through individual long intake tracks, which are ‘pulse tuned’ to provide air at the precise volume and timing for maximum density and power.
RELIABILITY & DURABILITY
- Corrosion Protection: Combined with our proprietary alloy (YDC-30), our exclusive Phaze Five™ electro-deposited, anti-corrosive paint system provides a tough, five-layer barrier against corrosion. This protection is standard on all the Yamaha Midrange 70-, 60- and 50-horsepower four strokes.
- Engine Warning System: This system protects the outboard with a range of functions including: overheat protection and low-oil-pressure warning (automatically reducing maximum RPM to 2000), over-rev protection, water-in-fuel detection, start-in-gear protection and shift-in prevention at open throttle.
- Wet Sump: The F70, F60 and F50 use a pressurized oil delivery system and incorporate a compact and durable oil pump to keep all of the moving parts of their SOHC systems lubricated and running smoothly for maximum reliability.
- Magnetic Drain Plug: Located in the lower unit to remove metal particles from the gear oil and prevent gearcase damage.
