The new Suzuki DF60AVTL2 is designed with a “High Energy Rotation” lower unit sporting a 2.42:1 gear ration, which enables this new model to use a bigger 14″ propeller – perfect for powering pontoon boats and other large, heavy craft. This mid-range 60hp engine is also designed with Lean Burn Fuel Control System, which adjusts the air/fuel mixtrue according to operating conditions. The system significantly improves fuel efficiency across the operating range, from low speeds well up into the cruising range. Yamaha’s Jet Drive four strokes, can boldly go where no propped outboard would dare. Shallows. Rocky-bottom rivers. Shoals. White-water rapids. They’d all prove treacherous for a propeller-driven outboard, but a jet drive is all over it. Prop-free, you can “off-road” without worrying about breaking a prop on rocks and other underwater obstructions. So, while you may be giving up the prop, you’re gaining a whole lot of freedom, with powerful, fuel efficient Yamaha Jet Drives available in 150, 115, 90, 60 and 40 horsepower.
Yamaha’s 747cc F40 Jet Drive four stroke produces 30hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight SOHC three-cylinder, in-line design features a long-track induction system and a single throttle valve. This creates compact, light-weight power and improves throttle response.
