2019 SUZUKI 50 HP DF50AVTL2 OUTBOARD MOTOR
The new Suzuki DF50AVTL2 is designed with a “High Energy Rotation” lower unit sporting a 2.42:1 gear ration, which enables this new model to use a bigger 14″ propeller – perfect for powering pontoon boats and other large, heavy craft. This mid-range 50hp engine is also designed with Lean Burn Fuel Control System, which adjusts the air/fuel mixtrue according to operating conditions. The system significantly improves fuel efficiency across the operating range, from low speeds well up into the cruising range. In developing the new DF350ATXXW2, Suzuki Engineers started with a clean sheet of paper and considered many factors for this design. Making more horsepower can be accomplished in many ways. The engine design can include larger displacement and adding turbo chargers or superchargers. However, larger displacement engines typically burn more fuel and increase the overall weight. While adding complex mechanical components can create reliability concerns. Once you have all of that horsepower, now the challenge is getting it to hook up or grab traction in the water. Suzuki Engineers labored through years of trial and success with computer simulations and on water testing to significantly improve the way an outboard motor converts engine power to underwater thrust.
