2023 2.5 HP MFS2.5CS Tohatsu Outboard Motor
The 2.5hp Tohatsu outboard motor is an excellent choice for square back canoes, small tenders and inflatables, and other small craft. The new 2.5hp 4-stroke outboard includes the newly designed top and bottom cowls based on Tohatsu Design Philosophy for Marine Products, 3-way storage positions without worrying about oil spill, the newly designed front and back carrying handles for easier transportation, and ultra-low emission, EPA and CARB 3-Star rating approved. The 2.5 hp is lightweight and has a four point vibration absorption system to minimize vibration along with sensational fuel economy. The MFS2.5CS engine is light, compact and powerful boasting the largest displacement in its class (85.5 cc). Tohatsu outboard motors are salt-water rated and built to last — the 2.5hp outboard is no exception to the rule. Quality construction and a long list of included features set the Tohatsu 2.5 HP outboard engine apart from the competition. It’s no secret that there is a growing demand for more powerful outboard motors. These new outboard motors have fueled a demand for larger boat designs that previously may have been powered by stern drive or other inboard power. As more powerful outboards are introduced, the boats get bigger and as the boats get bigger, outboards are getting more muscular. Suzuki has embarked on a major engineering expedition to build the Ultimate 4-Stoke Outboard Motor. In developing the new DF350ATXXW2, Suzuki Engineers started with a clean sheet of paper and considered many factors for this design. Making more horsepower can be accomplished in many ways. The engine design can include larger displacement and adding turbo chargers or superchargers. However, larger displacement engines typically burn more fuel and increase the overall weight. While adding complex mechanical components can create reliability concerns. Once you have all of that horsepower, now the challenge is getting it to hook up or grab traction in the water. Suzuki Engineers labored through years of trial and success with computer simulations and on water testing to significantly improve the way an outboard motor converts engine power to underwater thrust. - Engine Warning System: Protects the outboard with a range of functions including: overheat protection and low-oil-pressure warning (automatically reducing maximum RPM to 2000), over-rev protection, start-in-gear protection and shift-in prevention at open throttle.
