2023 2.5 HP MFS2.5CS Tohatsu Outboard Motor
The 2.5hp Tohatsu outboard motor is an excellent choice for square back canoes, small tenders and inflatables, and other small craft. The new 2.5hp 4-stroke outboard includes the newly designed top and bottom cowls based on Tohatsu Design Philosophy for Marine Products, 3-way storage positions without worrying about oil spill, the newly designed front and back carrying handles for easier transportation, and ultra-low emission, EPA and CARB 3-Star rating approved. The 2.5 hp is lightweight and has a four point vibration absorption system to minimize vibration along with sensational fuel economy. The MFS2.5CS engine is light, compact and powerful boasting the largest displacement in its class (85.5 cc). Tohatsu outboard motors are salt-water rated and built to last — the 2.5hp outboard is no exception to the rule. Yamaha’s Jet Drive four strokes, can boldly go where no propped outboard would dare. Shallows. Rocky-bottom rivers. Shoals. White-water rapids. They’d all prove treacherous for a propeller-driven outboard, but a jet drive is all over it. Prop-free, you can “off-road” without worrying about breaking a prop on rocks and other underwater obstructions. So, while you may be giving up the prop, you’re gaining a whole lot of freedom, with powerful, fuel efficient Yamaha Jet Drives available in 150, 115, 90, 60 and 40 horsepower.
Yamaha’s 747cc F40 Jet Drive four stroke produces 30hp at the pump. Its compact, light-weight SOHC three-cylinder, in-line design features a long-track induction system and a single throttle valve. This creates compact, light-weight power and improves throttle response.
