Most people who land here are either repowering a boat or trying to work out which brand to go with. We stock new Suzuki, Mercury, Yamaha, Honda and Tohatsu motors, plus electric Torqeedo outboards and a handful of used motors. That covers just about every boat from a kayak to a big offshore center console.

Outboard engines for sale in this category

Listing Year Power Hours Shaft
Mercury 300XXL SeaPro pair, DTS 2020 2 x 300 HP 1,900 and 1,887 30 in (XXL)
Mercury 200XL Verado 2016 200 HP 565 25 in (XL)

The SeaPro line is Mercury’s commercial-duty motor, built for boats that run long hours for a living. The pair here comes as a matched set with digital throttle and shift. The 200XL Verado is a supercharged four-stroke with relatively low hours for its age, which makes it a good repower option for a single-engine boat in the 20 to 23 foot range.

New outboard engines for sale, by brand

If you want a new motor, these are the brand pages to browse. Each one has its own specs, model code guide and buying notes.

How to choose between outboard engines

Three things decide it: horsepower, shaft length and how you use the boat.

When you compare outboard engines for sale, horsepower comes first, and it comes from your boat’s capacity plate. Do not go over the maximum. Most owners pick something close to it so the motor is not working flat out at cruise.

Shaft length has to match your transom. Measure from the top of the transom straight down to the bottom of the hull. Around 15 inches means a short shaft, 20 a long shaft, 25 an extra long, and 30 an XXL. Get this wrong and the motor will either cavitate or drag.

How you use the boat decides the rest. Heavy pontoons and workboats do better with high-thrust gear cases. Fast bass and flats boats want a lighter motor with quick acceleration. Sailboats need a long shaft and a prop that pushes well at low speed. Tell us about your boat and we will point you to a few good options.

New or used outboard engines?

Our outboard engines for sale include both. A new motor has no history to worry about and comes with the maker’s warranty on the maker’s terms. Used saves money and makes sense for work boats and second motors. If you go used, ask for hours, service history and compression numbers. We give those wherever we have them.

Buying from us

The price on each listing is for the motor. When you order, we confirm the model, shaft length and what is included, then quote freight to your door. We ship worldwide, by courier for small motors and crated by sea or air freight for big ones. Duties and taxes depend on your country, and you see the total before you pay.

If you want the factory spec sheets for any model, the makers publish them online. For the Mercury motors in this category, the official Mercury Marine website has the details.

Why buy outboard engines for sale from us

Every listing shows a price, so you know where you stand before you ask a question. We cover all the main brands, which means we can give you a straight comparison instead of pushing one name. And because we ship worldwide, it does not matter much where your boat is.

We also try to make the specs easy to read. Each brand page explains the model codes, so you can tell a long shaft from an extra long, or a tiller from a remote motor, without digging through brochures.
