π§ Tools & Supplies Needed:
- Fuel stabilizer (marine-grade)

- Gearcase lubricant
- Marine engine flush kit or muffs
- Freshwater hose
- Grease gun
- Battery charger or maintainer
- Engine oil & oil filter (replacement if)

β Step 1: Flush Cooling System
Salt, sand, and lake gunk will clog up your cooling passages on your engine. Flushing loosens up those unwanted deposits.

Instructions:
- Remove engine cover.
- Idling engine, fog into air intake with fogging oil.
- Repeat until engine freezes.
- Remove spark plugs and fog directly into each cylinder with fogging oil.
- Hand spin flywheel a few revolutions to spread the oil.
Note: Fuel-injected EFI Suzuki engines can be omitted if a fuel stabilizer is added. Check your manual.
β Step 4: Change Engine Oil & Filter
Dirty old oil contains dirt in it that will destroy the engine if not drained out.
Steps:
- Preheat engine (5 minutes) to drain.
- Drain plug and filter.
- Drain into pan.
- New filter and add prescribed type of oil (see below specifications).
- Check for leaks, check oil level.
β Step 5: Drain and Change Gearcase Oil
Water in lower unit will freeze and destroy housing.
Steps:
- Drain pan underneath gearcase.
- Loosen and remove bottom and top drain screws.
- Drain all fluid out.
- Fill bottom drain hole with marine gear oil until it spills out the top hole.
- Replace screws with new gaskets.
